Sea lions are often seen along the rocky Alaskan coast, and all the way down to California. I've taken quite a few fjord tours out of Seward and one of the highlights of the tours is getting to see the sea lions gathered out on the rocks. If you ever get to Seward, Alaska but don't have time for a tour check out the Alaska Sealife Center to watch them swim up close.
